Jaguar F-Type

Jaguar F-Type

The new architecture, we’ve learned, has been designed from the start with the flexibility that the current platform never had. The capacity for all-wheel drive has been engineered from the outset, unlike Jaguar’s current platform, which required a shocking amount of reengineering for the new all-wheel-drive XF and XJ.
In a few years, we expect this platform to underpin replacements for the XF and XJ, but as well as new models. A Jaguar crossover is very much on the table, the company’s CEO Adrian Hallmark told us last year. At the time, designer Ian Callum also said it was a product that they “discuss every day.” For Jaguar to really grow from being a bit player in the luxury market to at least a full-fledged brand, a crossover is a must-have product. Try to imagine something more like a Porsche Cayenne and less like a Mercedes-Benz R-class, and you’d have the right idea.

Every coming-of-age movie about high school–aged boys traveling throughout Europe shares one stereotypical scene: There’s always the nerdy creep who demands to be taken to a topless beach in France. Disappointment, rather than hilarity, ensues. In September, the topless antics in France will take place in Paris and promise to be far less disappointing. Jaguar has announced that a production version of its highly anticipated F-type roadster will appear at the 2012 Paris auto show, adding another top-dropping draw in addition to the Audi R8 Spyder and, very likely, the RS5 cabrio.

Ferrari 458 Spider

Ferrari 458 Spider

The top's already come off, but we're just now getting to the subject of price. Don't get too excited, most of you can't afford it anyway. We're talking about the Ferrari 458 Spider, and it'll cost you at least $257,000 to put one in your climate-controlled garage. Should you have the means, you can place your order starting in January of 2012.

What do you get when you replace $257,000 from your bank account with the Ferrari 458 Spider? A 4.5-liter V8-powered exotic sports car with a roof that disappears so your ears can get closer to aural nirvana. Sure, the fancy folding top covers up the visuals, but we'd take the soundtrack over the artwork any day. Besides, the body lines on the 458 Spider will keep your eyes busy enough as it is.

(Maranello, Italy) Within the walls of Fiorano, surrounded by Ferrari glory, a hundred Ferrari owners and nearly 2 dozen media; everyone is collectively eager to see the newest, topless, prancing horse: the Ferrari 458 Spider! Security is tight, there is somewhat of an Italian language barrier and there is check in after check in and requirements for proof of accreditation. “NO PHOTOS YET!”There is an enormous amount of anticipation as the unveiling celebration is greater than the imagination can create. Formula One cars and rockstars in attendance. Shaking hands feverishly with men in sharp Italian suits and the possibility of meeting Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa just became real. Suddenly you might start to feel under dressed. Afterall this is THE Ferrari 458 Spider World Premier.

With the newest topless Italian Exotic still behind the curtain, the narrator’s Italian voice suddenly becomes unimportant as you mentally doze off, picturing yourself along the coast and in the canyons with the top down and the buzz of the 458 Spider’s exhaust echoing off the walls of tall rocky mountains.
It first appeared out from backstage in cloud of smoke, and then all of a sudden the built up tension is quieted by this love at first sight: Ferrari 458 Spider! Each and every attendee applauds in approval like a battle has just been won in the Colosseum of Rome.
There she is, in all her glory. More beautiful in real life than in the one dimensional media perspective of the internet on a laptop. Ferrari offers with an exclamation; a fully tailored customizable program, which basically means carbon fiber anything

Zenvo ST1

Zenvo ST1

For a while there it seemed every new "I'm going to build a supercar!" designer put out a few impossibly beautiful drawings, then drove their stunningly rendered car into oblivion. Now it appears as though everyone who says he's going to build a supercar... actually does it. Perhaps it is worth mentioning that the supercar possibilities inherent in the humble Corvette, which is the base for a few of these high zoot runners, brings the financial case into line.

The supercharged and turbocharged Zenvo ST1 continues its assault on reality, with more photos and information released on what you'll find when it arrives: electric and power everything, FlexFuel capability, a 6-speed manual or potential paddle shifters, and the small matter of 1,104 horsepower. Still no word on price, though, and you know what that means. Follow the jump for the press release, or have a look at the car in the gallery of high-res photos below. Hat tip to Alexis.

A/S Zenvo Automotive is the company behind the first ever build Danish supercar. The company is located in Denmark 45 min. drive from the capital Copenhagen. Zenvo Automotive was founded with only one goal in mind - to produce unique hand built supercars. The research and development for the first prototype started in 2004. The prototype has now been completed and presented for a public audience for the first time at Le Mans 24 hour race.. Zenvo Automotive will start a series production of the car, named the Zenvo ST1. It will be a limited edition with only 15 cars to be built. Whenever possible we use local suppliers and we work closely with our business partners, enabling us to not only source the best components but influence the development process to achieve top performance and great design solutions for the Zenvo.
 Zenvo ST1
The first supercar coming from Zenvo Automotive is called Zenvo ST1. S stands for Supercharger, T for Turbo and 1 for model number one. For the engineers and designers within Zenvo Automotive, a clear list of criteria was made to ensure the car would not only be a track worthy supercar but a car that would be suitable for everyday use. The ST1 even though so powerful, is very drivable. It retains the unique feeling of driving a hand built supercar while still delivering the needs of modern motoring and safety. The car is 100% built in Denmark. From its impressive list of mechanical specifications to its striking pose the Zenvo ST1 is the result of clever Danish design. All these features are blended together to form a vehicle that demands attention but remains purposeful and practical. The frame is steel space frame and the body is in carbon.
Design
The car is 100% Danish design. Denmark has always been known around the world for its cutting edge design and for the first time "Danish Design" has been applied to a Supercar! The design of the Zenvo ST1 is made from free flowing accelerating lines creating the shapes of the wheel arches, the roof lines, side line and the lower side air intake. The sharp lines are connected by muscular organic surfacing creating dramatic reflections. The front is designed around the hexagonal trademark Zenvo grille flanked by the large front air intakes used for brake cooling and housing the front light. The theme of the front is repeated in the rear which is designed around the big diffuser necessary for high speed stability and down force. As on the front the center volume is flanked by large air exits extracting hot engine air as well as housing the exhausts and rear lights. The rear spoiler, mandatory for a car capable of extreme high speeds, is partly integrated. It has a unique aerodynamic design following the raked shape of the rear end.
Comfort & Luxury
The Zenvo ST1 is equipped with all modern facilities which make the car usable for everyday use. The A/C makes sure that the cabin always has the right temperature and the build in navigation makes sure that you always arrive in time. The 7½" screen makes you able to see DVD and is also connected to a rear view camera to make reversing easy. The audio system also allows you to hear music from either your I-Pod, MP3 player, CDs or Radio. The racing seats are both electrical adjustable and so are the steering wheel. The start up of the Zenvo is easy due to key-less go. Simply just push the "start engine" button. When driving the head up display gives you a perfect and safe access to driving information. 2 build in airbags for extra protection and safety. When just cruising simply just use the cruise control. When leaving the car it automatically locks.
Engine & Power
The impressive power is supplied by a 7 liter V8 engine and yes, this is the first ever supercar combining the benefits from both a supercharger and turbo. This combination delivers all the power in one straight line. This makes the car very drivable and has the character of a normal aspirated engine but much more powerful. The engine is a Bio Flex engine. It can run on normal unleaded 98 (RON) or on Bio fuel (E85) or both combined.
Gearbox
The car is standard delivered with a manual 6 speed gearbox which is specially developed to handle the enormous torque and power. We are also offering an option of delivering the car with a paddle shift solution.

Mercedes Benz SLS AMG Roadster

Mercedes Benz SLS AMG Roadster

The SLS AMG’s compact cloth fabric top was chosen for three reasons: Its light weight compared to a folding metal roof, its trim folded dimensions and its unique style. Capable of stowing away in just 11 seconds, it can be operated at speeds up to 31 mph.

Under the roof, things are mostly standard SLS AMG. That’s to say that the car draws inspiration from the original 300SL Gullwing of the 1950s, a legendary racing and road car that is highly valued by collectors today. The dashboard is retro-modern, with all the latest Mercedes-Benz luxuries and high-grade materials and trim that can be tailored to an individual buyer’s tastes.

Its dashboard is aircraft-inspired, as well, thanks to the jet engine-resemblilng vent nozzles and the aircraft thrust control-shaped E-Select gear lever.

That lever helps fire up the AMG Speedshift DCT 7-speed automatic. With four modes – comfort, sport, sport+ and manual – the automatic can fire off shifts faster than any driver could. A Race Start function optimizes the car’s sophisticated traction control system and mechanical differential lock for optimal launches.

Motivating the SLS AMG is the division’s 6.3-liter V8, which puts out 563 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 479 lb-ft. of torque at 4,750 rpm. This thrust propels the SLS AMG to 60 mph in a mere 3.7 seconds and the car is electronically limited to an impressive 197 mph. As a result, both roadster and gullwing boast similar performance figures.

McLaren MP4-12C

McLaren MP4-12C

For those who've been anxiously awaiting the replacement of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, last night was a very big night indeed. Not only did the new Mercedes SLS AMG leak out, but McLaren itself released full details of its new MP4-12C. We ran the info as soon as we could gather it along with an initial batch of images, and now we're back with more for your viewing and desktop-plastering pleasure.

The design of McLaren's new supercar – its first independent road-car project since the legendary McLaren F1 – comes from the hand of one Frank Stephenson, the multi-national, American-educated designer responsible for the reborn Mini, BMW X5, Fiat 500 and countless Maseratis and Ferraris. His design of the MP4-12C is dominated by McLaren's tick logo, which figures large in the air vents all around the car as well as the LED lights. The shape is otherwise clean and streamlined, aided by the use of adaptive aerodynamics. The interior is accessed via signature McLaren forward-upward hinged doors, and though lamentably without the 1+2 configuration made famous by its precursor, envelops the driver and passenger in thin, molded bucket seats. The dashboard is dominated by a 7-inch multimedia display, and the Pre-Cog gear system is operated via paddles mounted on a rocker, allowing up and downshifts to be affected from either side, just like in McLaren's championship-winning grand prix cars. Check it all out in the high-resolution image gallery below, and stay tuned for video footage to follow shortly.

Pagani Huayra Carbon Edition

  Pagani Huayra Carbon Edition

Wow, wow and wow again.  This is the absolutely awesome Pagani Huayra.  The Huayra Carbon Edition joined the Huayra White Edition in the short list of special models offered by Pagani, the Italian sports car manufacturer.
The Carbon Fiber Edition as the name suggests uses lots of carbon fiber to set it apart from the standard Pagani Huayra, but that’s where the differences end.  The model is paint free, in favor of carbon fiber coating, with the same material also being used for many of the interior elements starting with the dashboard and going up to accents on the premium leather seats.
Aside from the carbon fiber extravaganza, the Huayra Carbon Edition maintains all of the standard Huayra’s luxurious amenities, including its twin-turbocharged V12 engine. This engine is good for 700 HP and 738 lb-ft of torque and in the standard model, will sprint the supercar from 0 to 60mph in just 3.3 seconds up to a top speed of 230 mph.
So what do you think?  Good, great or epic car?

Ferrari 458 Italia Carbon Edition

Ferrari458 Italia Carbon Edition

Improving upon the appearance of an Italian supercar is always a daunting feat, but Anderson Germany decided to give it a try anyway with its Ferrari 458 Italia Carbon Edition special.
Naturally, the highlight of the tune is the carbon fibre outfit that includes the front lip spoiler, front bumper flaps, wide side skirts, a discrete rear lip spoiler, engine air outlets, rear side window air intake grilles and front bumper ventilation grille.
And if that ain't enough carbon fibre, the German tuning house also used the lightweight material on the roof, hood, mirrors, door handles, trunk lid, rear diffuser and even on the tail light trims and alloy wheel spokes.
The tuning specialist also fine tuned the 458 Italia's V8 engine with a reprogrammed software and a racier exhaust system that boost output to 623-horses.
Among the additional hardware upgrades are a lowered suspension kit and 21-inch alloy rims with low-profile performance rubber size 255/30 up front and 335/25 at the back.

Audi R8 Razor GTR

PPI Automotive Design : Razor GTR (Audi R8)

Pictures speak louder than words. More information at World Car Fans, but basically 580HP and 250kg lighter than the normal R8.
German tuner, PPI is again using the Top Marques of Monaco as a showcase for two of their latest creations; the PPI Audi R8 Razor GTR 10 and PPI Audi Q7 ICE GT. The Top Marques of Monaco is a show known to display some of the most over-the-top tuner cars in the world. Therefore, it's only fitting that PPI came equipped with these two impeccably crafted Audi creations.
First off, the PPI Audi R8 Razor GTR 10. It's name expresses both the car's exclusivity and powerplant with just one number - ten. Unlike the PPI R8 Razor GTR that debuted here last year, the GTR 10 boasts two more cylinders under the hood as this Razor is based upon the Audi R8 5.2 FSI V10. As for exclusivity, you guessed it, only 10 will be produced. As for engine enhancements, the PPI R8 Razor GTR 10 features a new exhaust system from headers to tips along with a performance air filter. All of which is enough to boost horsepower to 599 hp.All told, with a price tag of €360.000, the R8 Razor GTR 10 is the most expensive Audi R8 ever built by PPI.
